Wir alle tragen ein wenig Gewicht auf unseren Schultern, aber zum Songwriting gezwungen zu sein, ist eine willkommene Last für Lynne Hanson. Eigentlich würde man annehmen, dass ihre warme, düstere, knallharte Musik aus den südlichen USA kommt, allerdings stammt Lynne Hanson aus Ottawa in Kanada. Ihr Sound wurde aus ihren Erfahrungen und die Einflüsse von Rock, Blues und Roots geboren. Ihr Sound ist eine eingehende Mischung aus Rauheit und Einfühlvermögen, mal eher ruppig und bluesig, mal sanft.
Jede neue Veröffentlichung erhielt viel Lob und verdiente Hanson 2009 eine Nominierung für den Canadian Folk Music Award, eine Einladung zum Kerrville Folk Festival und den renommierten Colleen Peterson Songwriting Award, der vom Ontario Arts Council vergeben wird. Nach ein paar Jahren kehrte Lynne Hanson mit einem neuen Ansatz zum Songwriting zurück und veröffentlichte 2014 ihr viertes Studioalbum „River of Sand“ mit Produzentin Lynn Miles; einer JUNO-preisgekrönte Künstlerin.

At first listen, her warm, gritty, boot stompin’ music leads you through the southern USA, though Hanson hails from Ottawa, Canada. Her sound is born honestly through a lifetime of experience and influence, expressed through the rock, blues and roots that bleeds from her very being. With a liberal amount of Texas grit and a polished Nashville sensibility, Lynne’s songs are familiar and comfortable, yet fearless and strong. She likes things a little rough around the edges, but her deep bluesy croon is pure and full of fortitude. No matter what the song, there’s a weight and a warmth to her expression.
