Mit der britischen Band Birdeatsbaby aus Brighton weichen wir ein wenig von unserer akustischen Linie ab … dieses Konzert wird passend zur Musik voll verstärkt, auch wenn die Band eher ihre ruhigeren Stücke spielen wird. Die Musik von Birdeatsbaby lässt sich schwer kategorisieren, da sich so viele Einflüsse darin wiederfinden … am ehesten trifft es vielleicht „Dark Orchestral Symphonic Independent Rock“.

Gegründet im Jahr 2008, wurde die Band schnell bekannt für ihre theatralischen und visuelle Live-Auftritte, und ihre berüchtigten Musikvideos. Das bekannteste ist wohl „The Trouble“ (Regie: Philippa Bloomfield), das seither mehr als 250.000 Views auf YouTube erreicht hat und auch auf Filmveranstaltungen in Großbritannien gezeigt wird. Mit ihren Veröffentlichungen ‚Bigger Teeth‘ (2010) und ‚Feast of Hammers‘ (2012) tourte die Band ausgiebig durch Großbritannien, Europa und Amerika.

Kürzlich veröffentlichte die Band ihr drittes Studioalbum „The Bullet Within“, das von ihren Fans, treffend als „The Flock“ bezeichnet, über Crowdfunding finanziert wurde und wird im November 2016 ihr viertes Album „Tanta Furia“ veröffentlichen und auf dieser Tour vorstellen.

Birdeatsbaby are far from your average rock band. Incorporating a varied collection of influences, the band combine piano-lead power-pop with dark orchestral rock, resulting in something that sounds completely unique.

After forming in 2008 the band quickly became known for their theatrical and visual live appearances, and their infamous music videos. The most well known being ‘The Trouble’ (directed by Philippa Bloomfield) which has since gained over 250,000 views on YouTube and been shown at film events across the UK.

In 2010 the band released the cathartic ‘Bigger Teeth’ EP (produced by Marc R Norris of 80s Matchbox B-line Disaster) and played a string of shows across the UK and Europe.

‘Feast of Hammers’, was released in 2012 and followed up with an extensive tour of America and Europe. During this time the band were hailed as the ‘sound of 2012’, by Simon Price from The Independent, as well as a glowing review of their current album in the newspaper. Ben Graham from The Quietus also described them as “dark, sexual, vulnerable yet strong… like all the best bands”. Tom Robinson from BBC6 Music interviewed the band twice on his introducing show and has continued to play their music on the air.

Recently the band released their third studio album ‚The Bullet Within‘, which was crowd-funded by their fans, aptly names ‚The Flock.‘ It was pioneered by Chris Hawkins on 6 Music who called it „splendid cabaret style art-rock“ and also received 4**** from both Q Magazine and R2 (Rock n Reel). The band continue to tour, attracting a collection of cult-like followers, proving that the weird and wonderful world of Birdeatsbaby is something that must be explored…
